Or, in other words, what is the plastic bag production process? To produce a plastic bag, the first thing we need is raw materials from LDPE and HDPE plastic granules, a plastic bag blowing machine, and finally, a plastic bag cutting machine. Below, we will introduce you to the details of each stage as follows:

Large-format white nylon film in rolls

Materials: LDPE, HDPE, and other types of plastic granules. We will analyze the physical properties and distinguish the flexibility and transparency of these granules in detail in another article. The question is, where are these plastic granules produced and where are they purchased?Virgin plastic granules are plastic products generated from the fractional distillation of petroleum. Unused virgin plastic granules are usually naturally white, and colorants can be added to achieve the desired color. Therefore, virgin plastic granules are imported from oil-producing countries such as the OPEC bloc, the USA, Russia, South Korea, Japan, etc.

Plastic bag blowing or extrusion machine: Upon receiving a customer’s order for custom-made plastic bags, specifying length, width, thickness, material, color, printing, bag specifications, etc., Truong Giang will confirm the order information with the customer to advise and agree on the plastic bag standards.

Large-format blown film: production of covering film and large-format plastic bags

The raw materials are thoroughly mixed before being fed into the blowing machine under the specified conditions of melting temperature, film mold, airflow, etc. The film is then extruded into a wide-format mold according to the customer’s requirements. This results in a semi-finished product in the form of a roll of plastic with a width matching the width of the plastic bag and a material thickness as per the order.

Based on the order data and bag length, we cut the plastic bags to the required length. The bag opening is the desired width, while the bottom has a sealed seam or a ventilation opening as needed. Additionally, the bags can be perforated for ventilation and printed. This process can create various types of bags, including flat-mouth bags, tape-closure bags, side-fold bags (soup bags, edge-fold bags), etc. We can also print content on the bag surface according to customer requirements.

Plastic Bag Printing Process: We can meet customer requirements for printing information on the plastic bag surface. Depending on the quantity of plastic bags ordered, we will use screen printing (manual printing) or gravure printing technology as per the order.

There are slight differences between manual printing and gravure printing. For small quantities, manual printing is used, while for larger quantities, we advise switching to gravure printing to save costs and ensure quality for our customers. Gravure printing produces sharper, more beautiful prints and faster production times; however, it takes 3 to 5 days to create the gravure cylinders. Manual printing is faster, but it may be difficult to meet customer demand for large quantities. Therefore, we offer a combination of both methods to best suit our customers’ needs.
